Gunn is known for her character Skyler White on Breaking, an AMC drama series Breaking. The role she played earned her an award called the Primetime Emmy Award, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Series Drama in 2013. In August 2013, she composed an opinion piece for The New York Times examining the negative comments made by people about her portrayal.
