Huntington-Whiteley was a Plymouth, Devon, England-born daughter of Charles Andrew Huntington Whiteley, Engineer chartered, and Fiona Yvonne (daughter of Alan Jackson in Buckinghamshire). Her younger siblings are two brothers and a sister. She was born on a farm close to Tavistock, Devon. Her paternal grandfather of the Wing-Commander Eric Huntington Whiteley JP, was her uncle.
