
Carol Lynley, born Carole Ann Jones on February 13, 1942 and died September 3, 2019, was an American actress best recognized for her roles in Blue Denim (1959), and The Poseidon Adventure (1972). Lynley was the daughter of an Irish father and an Irish father and a New England mother. After starting her career as an actress, she was an infant model. She won the Theatre World Award as "one of the most promising stars during 1956-57" for her role in The Potting Shed. Lynley began her film career in the year 1958, with her debut in the Disney film The Light in the Forest. The film was followed by Holiday for Lovers (1959), and Blue Denim (1959). In 1959 she was nominated by the Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer Female for the film The Light in the Forest. The following year she was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Most Promising Newcomer - Female in the film Blue Denim.
